Parametric Bench Assignment
The assignment we were given was to create a parametric bench to go outside the Innovation Center. Outside the Innovation Center, it looks somewhat blank, so putting an unordinary bench that is designed by students is a great way to spice up the space.
Constraints
Dimensions (17"x26"x72"-96")
Cannot impede view of innovation center
Have built in backpack storage
Cannot have 90 degree angles

Beginning Design in Fusion
I used fusion for this project which was a newer software to me. To start, I created a sketch that was similar to the one I had created in my designer notebook. It wasn't too crazy, but it still had a clean feel.
Next, I extruded the sketch 72 inches which made it look more like a bench already. However it was still pretty rough and bland.
I then cut out a piece in the middle of the bench to allow space for backpacks to sit under. I also filleted the edges to take away the 90 degree edges that didn't look as clean.

Conclusion
I thought that this project was a fun add on to the class. It was fairly simple and focused more on designing which I thought was fun. I got to be pretty creative because there were few constraints. Designing the bench also got me a lot more familiar with designing in Fusion. I had never used fusion before, but it was pretty interesting to learn and create something new. Overall I felt that the project was a fun and simple way to design something that could be a really cool addition to the school.
